Jim Gailloreto - Composer & Saxophone
Jim Gailloreto is an accomplished jazz saxophonist and composer. His jazz style is rooted in a modern post-bop approach.
As a freelance musician he has performed with the Chicago Jazz Ensemble, Chicago Chamber Musicians, Fulcrum Point, Chroma Chamber Orchestra & Chicago Opera Theater. He performed a Chicago premier of Marc Anthony Turnage's “Scorched” with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra featuring John Scofield, John Patitucci, and Peter Erskin. He also performed with New York composer/pianist Fred Hersch for a Chicago premier of "Leaves of Grass".
Jim has recorded and performed with notable jazz performer such as Blue Note artist Patricia Barber on “Mythologies”, Origin artist guitarist John Mc Lean's on “Better Angels”, pianist Jeremy Kahn on “Most of a Nickel”, vocalist Grazyna Auguscik's “Lulajze”. His string quartet arrangements can be heard on Kurt Elling's Grammy award winning CD “Dedicated To You”.
Jim has a Bachelors in Music Composition from De Paul University and a Masters in Music Composition from Northwestern University. He is a recipient of the New Works: Creation & Presentation Program Grant from Chamber Music America. He was also recognized in the Jazziz Magazine's “Woodwinds on Fire” jazz select disc.
Gailloreto has five solo CD’s to his credit: The Insider (Wide Sound), Shadow Puppets and Jazz String Quintet (Naim Label), American Complex (Origin Classical) plus a self-produced CD with his quartet Jazzformation.
Cheryl Wilson - Vocal
Vocalist Cheryl Wilson enjoys a career as an internationally known recording artist, having recorded or performed with a variety of music stars, such as Michael Jackson, Mavis Staples, Celine Dion, Seal, Diana Ross, Michael Bolton, Faith Hill, Mannheim Steamroller, R Kelly, Cameo, Bill Withers, KMFDM, Peter Cetera, David Foster and Whitney Houston, among others. She writes, arranges and records music for commercials, feature films and television, and has several gold, platinum and diamond Billboard recording awards. Her performances include solo appearances with symphony orchestras and music festivals around the world.
A recipient of a National Association of Jazz Educators award, Wilson teaches voice and jazz studies at both the Chicago Conservatory of Performing Arts and the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is a Faculty Fellow of the Honors College at UIC.Cheryl is also a member of the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra, as a violist.
Carmen Llop Kassinger - Violin
Carmen Llop Kassinger enjoys a busy freelance career in Chicago. She has played with the Chicago Symphony, Lyric Opera, Grant Park Symphony, Chicago Philharmonic, Chicago Sinfonietta, Joffrey Ballet, Lake Forest Symphony, and many others. Carmen is an avid chamber musician. Performing with friends and colleagues is certainly the ultimate pursuit for her as a musician. Some of hermost memorable performances are the most diverse, Carmen has played with Led Zepelin, Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez, Diana Ross, Cheap Trick, Brian Wilson, Rod Stewart, Seal, Elvis Costello and many more.
Broadway is one of her favorite genres and she was lucky enough to play concert master for the world premiere of "The Producers" in addition to many other shows. Carmen received her Masters in violin performance from the University of Miami. Before moving to Chicago she was a member of the Charleston Symphony. She also played with the New World Symphony and spent ten seasons in the pit with the Sarasota Opera.
Lisa Fako - Violin
Violinist Lisa Fako counts Betty Lambert, Victor Aitay, and Joseph Silverstein among her teachers. She has performed at festivals including Tanglewood, Aspen, Strings in the Mountains, the Moab Music Festival, and the Woodstock Mozart Festival, as well as numerous chamber music recitals live on WFMT radio.
A busy freelancer in Chicago, Ms. Fako performs regularly with the Chicago Philharmonic, as well as the Lyric Opera, The Lake Forest Symphony, The Elgin Symphony and many others.
Jill Kaeding - Cello
Jill Kaeding earned her degree at DePaul University where she studied with cellist Gilda Barston and Joseph Sciacchitano and the late Frank Miller both of the Chicago Symphony. One of the most requested cellists in the Chicago area, Jill Kaeding is known for her versatility in all mediums of music.
For over ten years, she enjoyed performing, touring worldwide and recording with Corky Siegel’s Chamber Blues. An avid chamber musician, Jill is a member of Trio Élan. She also performs with the HAWK String Quartet and is one of the original members of JSQ since 1997. Jill has performed with many national artists including Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Lyle Lovett, Depeche Mode, Garth Brooks, Poi Dog Pondering, Josh Groban, Natalie Cole, the Electric Light Orchestra, Smokey Robinson, David Foster and Kurt Elling.
Loretta Gillespie - Viola
Loretta Gillespie was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She began playing the viola at the age of ten. Ms. Gillespie has a degree in music performance from Northern Illinois University. After graduating she completed a two year internship with the Houston Symphony then moved to Louisiana where she played with the Shreveport Symphony.
Since 1997 Loretta has been freelancing in the Chicagoland area. She enjoys a variety of work including playing assistant principal viola in the Elgin Symphonyand playing in various pit orchestras. Away from her viola Loretta enjoys researching her family tree.
Christian Dillingham - Double Bass
Bassist Christian Dillingham, a native of Brookfield, OH, received his musical training at Youngstown State University, and Duquesne University earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. He is a student of Jeffrey Turner, Micah Howard, Tony Leonardi, Jeffrey Grubbs, and Peter Lloyd.
A versatile player, Dillingham is equally comfortable in orchestral and jazz settings. He performs regularly at jazz venues throughout the city of Chicago and abroad. He has performed with artists including Sean Jones, Take 6, Bobby Broom, Dee Alexander, and blues artist Lurrie Bell. He is also a member of the Chicago Sinfonietta and the Chicago Philharmonic.
